Maritime History Museum

St Malo, France

Kengo Kuma

The Maritime History Museum of Saint-Malo is designed as a “museum in the air”. It would have been a new landmark in the heart of the city by extending over a multiple site. The acoustic design was provided by Theatre Projects in collaboration with Kengo Kuma and Associates.

The project included exhibition spaces, a large reception atrium, a broadcast room as well as offices and café/restaurant.

The project was unfortunately cancelled in 2019 while it was being brought to a detailed design level.
