Opera Pleiades

A new Opera Festival

Using the magnificent natural heights of Lake Geneva, Robert Heath was inspired to create a breathtaking setting for Opéra Pléïades, a new opera festival on the heights of Vevey and the Montreux Riviera in Switzerland.

Like the ancient Greek mountainside theatres such as Epidaurus or Taormina in Sicily, as well as opera festivals in London's Holland Park or Bregenz festival in Austria, the pristine summit of the Pléiades and its remarkable esplanade form a natural site is ideal for this future summer festival dedicated to opera.

Between lake and mountain, neither too high nor too exposed, with reliable, environmentally friendly access by train from Vevey or Blonay, it enjoys an exceptional panorama of the Alps and Mont Blanc as well as Lake Geneva.

Under the general direction of Alex Reedijk who introduce Sébastien Jouan to Robert Heath, Scottish Opera will be making the productions and be the main Festival Orchestra.

Studio Jouan is contributing to this great adventure by providing an acoustic consultancy and technical programming service.
