Byzantine Wing and Roman Trail
Le Louvre
Paris, France
Following a first project in 2023 with a study of the Hall Napoléon below the Pyramid, Studio Jouan is starting a new project for le Louvre Museum alongside Californian architects and exhibition designers Why Architects.
In completely redesigned spaces, covering more than 2,200m², the "Byzantine Trail" will present the collections of the Department of Byzantine Arts and Christianity in the East on the ground floor and mezzanine of the Denon wing.
The "Roman Trail" will offer a renewed presentation of the Roman collections of the Department of Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities on 3,300m² of historical spaces in the museum (Daru Gallery, Anne of Austria's apartments, Sphinx courtyard).
Studio Jouan will be providing acoustic design for the two exhibitions.
The project is to start at the end of 2024 with a completion anticipated for 2027.
