National Concert Hall Tautos Namai

Vilnius, Lithuania

(Competition)

“Beauty is not the object of creation, it is its reward. Every time it appears, it announces that the broken balance between man and nature is filled again by art”, Brassaï.

Silence is the mother of music, so a concert hall can be thought of as a place that creates silence to give birth to music.

The new National Concert Hall in Vilnius was not only intended to be a venue for performances, but was also designed as an open public space where people can meet, walk and ultimately share emotions, both through the beauty of the space but also through the music.

This project is one of the many collaborations between Studio Akkerhuis and Sébastien Jouan’s team at Theatre Projects.
