BBC Scotland
Glasgow, Scotland
Located alongside Glasgow’s former docks, the BBC Scotland headquarters sits on an exposed plot of land adjacent to the River Clyde.
Working alongside David Chipperfield architects and Glasgow based Keppie Design, Arup provide structure, M&E and acoustic design on the BBC Scotland building.
The building contains multiple TV and radio studios all built as box-in-boxes. It also contains a central staircase atrium leading to floors of open plan offices and meeting rooms.
Sébastien Jouan was part of the Arup Acoustics design team working alongside Ian Knowles and Ned Crowe.
He was responsible for all the acoustic reception tests for BBC Scotland as well as the Glasgow City Halls which was commissioned at the same time.
These two projects gave him a presence in Glasgow to create a new Arup Acoustics office in Scotland.
